Covered today

Simultaneous equations by elimination, then two worded problems from the GCSE paper.

Went well

Zara spotted when to multiply both equations first, without a hint.

To work on

Sign errors when subtracting a negative. We’ll warm up with these next week.

Homework

Worksheet 4, questions 1 to 8. About 25 minutes.

01

The lesson ends at five. The update gets written at ten, or never.

Parents pay for every lesson and want to know what happened in it. Writing that up is unpaid time, so it slips. And a parent who can’t see progress starts to wonder what they’re paying for.

02

From goodbye at the door to a sent recap in under two minutes.

01 · 1 min

Talk for a minute

Right after class, in your own words. Four prompts keep you on track: what you covered, what went well, what needs work, and any homework.

02 · ~30 sec

Check the draft

It’s usually ready in under 30 seconds. Tap any line to change it. Nothing reaches the parent until you press Send.

03 · 1 tap

Send it to the parent

One tap to WhatsApp, SMS or email. Ayesha opens a link on her phone, with no app to install and no password.

03

A recap parents actually read.

Short sections, the same every time, so a parent can take it in on the school run. You see when they’ve opened it, and when they mark it read.

Your next-lesson plan stays private to you.

04

Built around how tutors actually work.

Only what you said

The recap is written from your words alone. Say less and you get a shorter recap, never a padded one.

Remembers last week

Before the next lesson you see what Zara found hard and what homework you set.

In the parent’s language

Talk in English and send the recap in Urdu, Spanish or Polish.

Sounds like you

Choose friendly or formal once. Ask for “shorter” or “warmer” any time.

Works without signal

Record in a basement flat or on the bus. It uploads when you’re back online.

Shows you who read it

Each recap shows Sent, Viewed and Read, so you never wonder if it landed.

05

Questions tutors ask.

Do parents need to download anything?

No. They get a link that opens on any phone. Once they mark the recap as read the link closes, and you can send a fresh one any time.

What if the recap gets something wrong?

You read every draft before it goes, and can change any line. If you said little, it writes little.

Which subjects does it work for?

Any you teach: Maths, English, sciences, 11+, languages, music and test prep.

Can I record the whole lesson?

Yes on Pro, once the parent has agreed through a consent link. For most lessons a one-minute debrief is enough.

When can I use it?

We’re opening TutorRecap to tutors in small groups. Join the list and we’ll email your invite.
